2.0 out of 5 stars Editorial review needs editing 17 Mar 2012
By R. J. Fadeley - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
The "editorial review" accompanying this text is quite awkward and was obviously composed by someone whose native language is not English. Example? First sentence: "Can seem strange, but a person who knows English badly or insufficiently, gives out not only some wrong sounds, grammar or phrases, but, more often, an inappropriate preposition." Can, indeed. (Sounds like Natasha from the old Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon show). Unless it was intended satirically, which is doubtful given the topic of the article, it needs a second look by someone who is capable of writing standard English. There seem to be more and more grammatical handboooks written by non-native speakers who, while they are capable of detailed analyses of minutiae, are incapable of creating clear English prose. I would hate to presume, but I suspect Ms. Dobrynina to be a member of this group. More power to her -- we've all got to make a living -- but please get her an editor/proofreader!

4.0 out of 5 stars Prepositions are important and this book shows how to use them 10 Mar 2014

I am preparing a new method of presenting textbooks which includes guides to help the student understand what is being said and relate new information to current knowledge. Since prepositions show relations between things, and I am trying to let students know how to relate things, I need to know as much about prepositions as possible. This book has added substantially to my knowledge of and proper use of prepositions.
