Good, not great...,
This review is from: 15 Minutes [DVD] (DVD)
Interesting film, but rather disappointing and sometimes lacked meaning and excitement although the storyline is generally good and nothing like I expected - prepare to be surprised! In all, a good film but by no means Robert De Niro's best.

Really not that bad,
This review is from: 15 Minutes [DVD] [2001] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] (DVD)
This film premiered on TV a few weeks ago and I have to say I really liked it. I'm a big De Niro fan, but this film isn't just about De Niro, his appearance doesn't make it what it is, it's a good film on it's own. The story the film tells and the way it's told to me was original and powerful, slightly amusing but leaves you with a thought provoking message about how modern society works. It's not a multi oscar winning film or a Goodfellas or Deer Hunter, it's not suppose to be like them though and is a good entertaining film that'll certainly hold your attention.

15 Minutes Of Shame,

Robert De Nero stars as Detective Eddie Flemming; a cop with plenty of accolades to his name - he's also madly in love with Nicolette Karas (Melina Kanakaredes) a TV presenter who works with Robert Hawkins (Kelsey Gremmer) who has a very popular current affairs show on TV.
They all become enthralled in a serious arson attack - and they need to find the culprits before more disastrous things happen, but the guys have a different idea on how to get their loot back, and it's not as conventional as some might think. I felt rather lukewarm towards 15 Minutes, at times it just dragged and the script got rather teadius; with the story dragging it's heels. Both De Nero and Edward Burns did a great job in this movie, but I just felt Kelsey was just too much like Frasier, which is usually the problem with worldwide fame and recognition. I didn't really like the storyline, I felt it was too stereotypical, and the East vs West theme was rather strange. It was interesting how the story developed, but by the time it had I wasn't that interested, as it was taking a while to get to the point. This isn't a bad film, well worth renting, just doesn't have that come back to feeling. I have had this DVD sitting on my shelf for 7 years now, and this is the first time I have come back to it in all that time.
