Before I bought this album I was puely a Wu-Tang,Dre and Snoop man but this record has changed my opinion of how rap should be. Some of the tracks just made me weep for joy, "straight from queens" for example. Enough reading, go and buy it rap fans and poprap fans alike!

I first bought this album when i t was released and i remember thinking that a couple of the songs really stood out, however recently i found the CD again and it is better than i remember. Best song on the album is the last Crossroads with simple beats and a great choir chorus it just doesnt get much better! Pink cookies ............ (a weird name for a song) but its a summer tune that is always uplifting.

Hope this helps you

I got this on tape when it reached number one in the US album charts in the early ninties. I think it missed the UK almost completely at a time when the rap/hip-hop cash-cow hadn't been milked yet and us old school fan used to have to search around to buy tapes etc. Modern rap is mostly tired copies of these innovative predecessors. Unfortunately, most people don't revisit this stuff, but in my eyes it's genius. If you like this you might also like: Freestyle fellowship - innercity griots, the goats - trick of the shade

I just love 90's hiphop so after all his other albums I realised I was missing his first. Loads of big baselines here!
