Works as described - I've tested it and it'll charge and iPad 2 but there is on huge caveat - Because it is so short (the wider "USB" end of the charger will rest on the rim of the cigar socket before the plug has pushed fully all the way home - and it's curved, so it rocks), and because the end is rounded so much and not as thick as it should be, when you push it on some cigar sockets, it is possible with no effort at all to push it a little off centre which results in the live pin on the end going into the "corner" of the socket and touching both live and earth at the same time - which results in fuses popping in your car. This happens with any cigar socket where the metal liner (which is the earth) runs all the way to the bottom of the socket.

I bought one of these about 6 months ago. After a few weeks the clear plastic cover broke in two and fell off, so I glued it back together and to the body rim and it worked fine until today. I tried to use it to charge my phone as usual and for no apparent reason it no longer works. I see there is now a 'new 2012 edition'.
