1223 USB to 4pin firewire cable
The IEEE 1394 multimedia connection enables simple, low-cost, high-bandwidth isochronous (real-time) data interfacing between computers, peripherals, and consumer electronics products such as camcorders, VCRs, printers, PCs, TVs, and digital cameras.
Data transfer between IEEE 1394 and USB.
Please check the manual of your device to find out whether this cable works with your device.
The IEEE 1394 FireWire compatible cable transmits data between a FireWire-capable device and a FireWire port on your computer at a transmission rate of up to 400Mbps.
IEEE-1394is a versatile, high-speed, and low-cost method of interconnecting a variety of computer peripherals and consumer electronics devices. FireWire provides a direct digital link between up to 63 devices, with transfer speeds up to 400Mbs. Digital Video (DV) camcorders, scanners, printers, videoconferencing cameras, and fixed-disk drives can all share a common bus connection not only to a PC, but to each other as well. With Windows Me or Apple's FireWire Target Disk Mode you can use an IEEE-1394 cable to connect two computers together to allow for file sharing.

I bought this cable thinking it was the answer to my prayers!
Item delivered in a matter of days - looked promising. however, cable doesnt work - is not recognised by my computer, checked all possbile methods and yet nothing.
I would return for a refund however, when the product only cost [...], it'd be more expensive for the P&P!
Shame seller, as all the signs were there for a good business/item
I purchased two of the Cables but neither of them is working so I am not happy. I would prefer a refund or a replacement. But the delivery was prompt and as requested
Unfortunately the 'DV out to USB2 in' data stream must get a little confused during communication between the camcorder and PC. The PC recognises that new hardware has been plugged in, but cannot maintain contact long enough for any video to be transferred. After making numerous checks and tests with three different software programs and on two laptops + one desktop, I have to conclude that the firewire/USB2 'conversion' simply does not work - at least not via this method anyway.
