Ah me. The late great Pete Seegar was directly responsible for setting me on the road of the itinerant wastrel, the bane of many pure and gentle young souls who's paths I crossed. I still have a letter of encouragement he wrote me fifty years ago. He also introduced me to that wonderful instrument the 12 string guitar. And then, guess what, the demon Huddie Ledbetter aka Leadbelly. So from pete's 6 string guitar book I was led so very happily to the 12string guitar guide as played by Leadbelly. And then off into the wild blue yonder of clubs and pubs and strippers and streets and TV and movies and deadbeats and boozers and winners and losers and hookers and angels and towns and cities and cops with no pity etc, etc. so be careful my friends at a time when there' loads of instruction books and dvds this little pair of CDs could very easily seduce you.

old fashioned recorded guitar instruction but worth the time 26 Nov. 2013

This review is largely to disagree with the previous one star review--there is a lot of meterial in here and you can easily learn a good 24 songs over the course of a year or so. The material is arranged by left hand position/key and sometimes Lead Belly's verion is excerpted from and sometimes Pete Seeger plays the passage being reviewed. The accompanying booklet on PDF can be a little hard on the eyes and that is probably the main fault in terms of the presentation.

If you have a 12 string and like Lead Belly--even if you just like Lead Belly with a 6 string, you will find a lot to work on with these disks.
Weak! 4 Dec. 2012

Very overpriced, given the sparse content. I bought this CD to help me learn the 12-string, Leadbelly style. It's a very old recording of Pete Seeger that has little value for guitar instruction.
