The videos are split into cute and funny sections.
The video links mean children come back again and again, naturally developing their reading and learning skills (early kindle models don't support video but the safe website link is given).

Fascinating Facts Include...

Apart from lions, domestic cats are the only cats known to live in groups.
The African wildcat, which still thrives today in North Africa and parts of the Arabian Peninsula, was the ancestor of all of today’s domestic cats.
A cat’s tongue is covered by tiny hook-like bristles called papillae. Even big cats have tongues like this, but they use them primarily for ripping the flesh of prey, while domestic cats use it mainly for grooming.
Cats are obligate carnivores. This means they must eat meat. A cat’s intestines are especially made for a meat diet, which is why they have a hard time digesting fruits and vegetables, especially those rich in carbohydrates.
Cats are good at picking up high-pitched sounds – up to 64 kHz. That’s six octaves higher than the human range and even one octave higher than a dog’s.

If only they had a 6 out of 5 rating because this book deserves more than five stars. If you are a cat lover ignore any bad reviews( if there are any!!!) and get it. What could go wrong? It's free!! 5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! I had no idea! 5 Feb 2014

So that’s how cats can jump off the top of the cupboard above the refrigerator and land gently on their feet. So that’s why a cat’s tongue is so scratchy and feels nothing like a dog’s tongue? So that’s why cats often look like they are hallucinating as they suddenly stop as if they’ve heard something, crouch down and get ready to pounce. So that’s why cats are so quiet. So that’s why you rarely see a cat drink a lot of water at one time. So that’s why my dad’s cat sometimes walks around with his mouth open.

These are just a few of the questions that will be answered in this fascinating look at felines. Aside from all the interesting facts about cats, I especially liked the section on breeds which describes all the breed-specific characteristics. If you are thinking of getting a cat and are interested in specific characteristics, this will be a big help.

Also making the book enjoyable are the beautiful, full-color photos throughout the book and the links to the cat videos where you can see cats doing what they do best; being cats. Highly recommended for all animal lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cats and more cats! 4 Feb 2014

Loved the book.. some really great pictures of cats and the kids love it. Lots of good information in this book, even for adults. The Egyptian Mau is my favorite, have never seen one like that before. And I had no idea that the "Hello Kitty" cat AND the "waving" cat I always see at all the Japanese restaurants, are actually modeled after a real Japanese cat (you'll have to read the book to find out which one)..

This was a wonderful, pictorial book for kids. Now we need a 101 facts about dogs!

Cats 101
A well informed book telling all there is to know about a cats origins, skeletal system, its coat, eyesight...It even confirms the fact that cats do land on their feet. I believe this to be an excellent tool for a child doing a paper or research on cats for school. It could easily be understood by the middle grade student.
