From the Author
I've had a love of gardening since my childhood, but like any other gardener (experienced or novice) I'm still always discovering new ways to do things, sometimes to save time, or simply because needs must! I garden on a windy hillside in Hampshire, on a seriously sticky alkaline clay, but past gardens have covered just about every other not-exactly-perfect-extreme!!
For 13 years I was a regular presenter on BBC 2's Gardeners' World, and for even longer have been a regular panelist on BBC Radio 4's Gardeners Question Time, I also write for
numerous publications and of course try to get out into the garden as often as I can.
Everyone, whatever their garden is like, however much experience they have, can benefit from other people's suggestions and ideas, and basically that is what '1001 Ways to be a Better Gardener' is all about - passing on some of my tips and suggestions for making the time you have in your garden all the more worthwhile, and ensuring that you get
the best possible results every time. It is divided up into lots of sections making it easy for you to find help quickly and easily, and there are plenty of great photos to help too.
