Having met Marcus I must say his book is even more profound than he is. Marcus is a great guy and he has pulled together some fantastic prayers and thoughts in this book. It covers all sorts of traditions and has good options for how to adapt the prayers for one's own faith. Excellent - I use it often privately and in public worship

It does what it says on the cover.Prayers that will make you stop and think. Different faiths but basically all very moving. Highly recommended for all those who accept there is beauty and truth in all scripture not just the Bible.

Tremendous meditative compilation! 29 Jun 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is a compilation of prayers and meditations attributed to traditional spiritual leaders, as well as contemporary writers. It covers a vast expanse of religious and spiritual narratives and is organized by topic to support specific needs. It may also be used as a planning resource for spiritual events, and is particularly helpful for interfaith activities.

The book itself, while a paperback, is well-bound with a high quality glossy paper and clean typeset. The TOC is based on topic and covers five major subjet areas - God, Times and Seasons, Changing Scenes of Life, World and Society, and the Natural World. The Index provides background on the contributors as well as other references.

I had to smile with each entry read - I believe there are many surprises and comforts hidden in this gem of a book. Clearly a sign of our connectedness and diversity in this human family.
