5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifull book! 21 Nov 2009
Format:Paperback
This book has more excellent examples of graphic elements. I own the first in the series which is just called 1000 Graphic Elements. I liked it so much, when I found out there was a second one, I snapped it up and was not disappointed! I would recommend this book to students or professionals as a great source of inspiration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a good resource 14 Jan 2011
By Smatch VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
As a student studying Graphic Design I needed a book which covers a wide range of subjects to do with finishing a design, I'm especially interested in hand made graphic design. This book features different printing techniques, surface manipulation, formatting and binding and different graphic devices. Designers are now wanting to go back to the earlier practices of handmade, hand finishing design where feel is just as important as layout and communication. As the author says 'Its essential to inspire consumers to savour the experience of a thoughtfully and beautifully crafted design artefact.'

This book simply presents you with these ideas; featuring original work from leading design agencies you have a perfectly balanced retrospective of design work involving the hand today.

No explanations needed, just simple, beautifully taken photographs of the work. I know this is the sort of book that will be useful throughout my course, and after.

It also features a great index with contact details for every designer/agency featured in the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring 12 May 2014

Whenever I need some inspiration, I look at theses books to give me ideas about printing. This should be in every print designer's book shelf.
3.0 out of 5 stars Great examples, Terrible Image Quality 27 April 2014
By James - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There were lots of nice examples of design work in this book. However, in the Kindle version, the images are saved with a very high compression, like a "low quality" JPEG setting or maybe even a GIF setting. The negative artifacting on many of the images tarnish an otherwise nice collection of design samples. I don't recommend the Kindle version of this book at all. If I had the print version, I'd probably give it 4.5 stars.
4.0 out of 5 stars Inspiration for clients willing to go the extra mile 18 Feb 2013
By Stacey Elder - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
When you do get that client that's willing to spend a little extra money to make their marketing stand out, this book is a great resource. I've enjoyed flipping through to see how other designers have stepped out of the box. Will be keeping this in the library for a quick reference.
