For anyone who wants to check out the very best golf available in their own locality, or to plan a golfing holiday in an unfamiliar area, this guide is indispensable. The book is organised by county or region, and each chapter opens with a detailed description of the course or courses which the editors rate as the very best in the county. The other courses in the county are then listed with their star ratings. There are names and contact information for the secretary and professional, details of prices, per round and per day for weekdays and weekends, and a description of the facilities available - dining room, bar and bar food plus opening hours. Each entry also includes a sampling of readers' opinions on the course and the facilities.
