5.0 out of 5 stars A Treasure Chest! 24 Jan 2014
By Grumpy Reader - Published on Amazon.com
This is an amazing collection of architectural drawings--from the most meticulously detailed perspectives to abstract notions for structures, and in just about every imaginable medium. The variety is incredible and should appeal to anyone with any sort of interest in graphic arts, whether or not you are passionate about architecture per se. It's a book of wonderful art works. Some of the ideas were realized as actual structures, and some not. Besides being moved by the art works, it's fascinating to read the descriptions and learn the intentions behind each architect's plan. I recommend it without reservation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but...... 24 Feb 2014
By William Warren - Published on Amazon.com

I have enjoyed the book. It contains drawings of buildings and structures I would never have known about otherwise. Many of these drawings have considerable artistic merit. My only mild complaint is that the book whet my appetite, regarding a number of the drawings, for a lot more information about the architect/artist and the structures depicted (and more information about why many of them were never built). In other words, I wish there had been additional text and greater detail.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Collection of Drawings 3 Mar 2014

The book is a must for any architect or designer. It is a wonderful collection of drawings, sketches, renderings, etc. Mr. Bingham adds just enough information and background to each photo to educate the reader. Well done!

3.0 out of 5 stars 20th Century Architectural Drawing?? 15 Feb 2014
By A. hickes - Published on Amazon.com
After the Bauhaus tossed out the Beaus Arts ideals and it's emphasis on beautiful rendering early in the 20th century,
rendering was unofficially disparaged by the profession for rest of the century. It was not given serious consideration
in architectural education and you won't find one article in any
of the architectural journals on rendering until the computer shook things up in the 90's. As a result drawing is no longer
a part of the architect's repertoire. A book trumpeting the relatively little that was done last century as "prolific"
obscures the opportunity to understand historically what has been lost and why.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT RECOMMENDED 25 May 2014

I would not call any of the material in this book The best 300 drawings. I found them all to be second rate. No Falling Water! No Johnson Wax!
