Number 1 bestseller in the Apple iBookstore Education books and Professional and Technical books sections in March 2012! What are other people saying about 100 Things Awesome Teachers Do? "I would heartily recommend this book to any teacher – whatever subject you teach, whether you are new to the profession, or if you are looking for new ideas and a chance to reflect on your existing practices." - Craig Barton is an AST from Thornleigh Salesian College, Bolton. "William Emeny's '100 Things Awesome Teachers Do' is a fantastic book, crammed full of wonderfully unique ideas to engage learners, improve learning and create that buzz about your classroom. The book is separated into 10 key topics, each with 10 innovative ideas. It is thoroughly enjoyable to read and can easily be dipped in and out of as required. As a trainee teacher on the GTP, I have found the ideas Emeny presents invaluable and his passion for teaching shines through in every idea. Every teacher wants to be an awesome teacher; how many of Emeny's 100 things are you currently doing?" - Paul Collins, Mathematics Teacher New to teaching and want some good ideas? Been in teaching a while and looking for some fresh things to try? 100 Things Awesome Teachers Do is like a breaktime chat between teachers who share things they have found work for them. The book is split into 10 sections including, lesson planning, motivation and engagement, learning environment, learning styles, independent learning and more. Each section has 10 ideas for you to try out. This isn't a book that focusses how to pull off a single outstanding lesson to please the requirements of a formal lesson observation, although it does help with that! This book is more about getting excellent learning happening in your classroom everyday, day-in day-out. The book is full of tried-and-tested ideas that teachers have learned both from academic research and The University of Life and Experience. Bursting with ideas about things awesome teachers do, this book should give both newbies and seasoned pros something new to try out!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good flick through book 8 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A good book for ideas when your lessons and imagination are getting a bit stale. One thing I would recommend is buying the paperback rather than the kindle edition as its difficult to flick through the kindle edition for ideas.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with this book! 15 Sep 2012
By Korou
Format:Kindle Edition
I bought this book as a birthday present for myself, and wasn't disappointed! There weren't many ideas in it that I hadn't heard at one time or another, but having them laid out and written about was quite inspiring. This book is readable, enjoyable and has lots of great ideas. Most of all, it is what I look for above all else in a book on teaching: useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, creative yet practical. 29 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It didn't take long to read. It wasn't bombarded with academic jargon and theory. At every page, I thought of a class where the idea would or would not work. Brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars A worthwhile wee read 15 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So, yes I admit...after 20 years in the trade...a typing error in the initial pages of this book almost put me off continuing at all....but I am glad I overlooked it...stopped being a teacher for a minute...went with the flow and read on. Good practice shared in a light hearted non condescending manner...a welcome warmth of tone after the usual thankless busy whirlwind of a day. Lots to reassure I`m going things right with a healthy measure of innovative must tries. Thank you William. Two hours well spent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some great ideas! 14 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
William is witty and wild with many great ideas that are really practical from the classroom. I like how it's organised into different sections and the parts on students with special needs and students with higher abilities was particularly interesting. I've made many notes and have already started using some ideas which were a great success! I highly recommend it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not ground breaking.
If anything else, it does motivate you to want to teach better, but like with most teaching books, they are mainly specific to that teacher and that school. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars 100 Thngs Awesome Teachers Do
Liked this book very much. Easy to read and with no jargon. Could be used to dip into rather than reading from cover to cover.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money.
Rubbish. A teaching student would already know all of the 'brilliant ideas'. An experienced teacher would know those and an awful lot more.

3.0 out of 5 stars its ok
I've been a primary teacher for about 7 years and there wasn't much in here I didn't already know. That said, it was a good reminder of a few that I had forgotten about!

This book is thin and small and has very few pages. The words of wisdom contained in it are not rocket science. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars sensible advice but largely a statement of the obvious
The chapter headings and little quotes are a reminder of what teaching is all about. Most of the advice is helpful. Good stuff. Useful too.
