5.0 out of 5 stars A great buy 27 Sep 2009
Format:Hardcover
My seven-year-old son loves this book. The book comes out every weekend and the experiments are really varied and interesting. This weekend we're extracting DNA from an onion - how cool is that?! Worth every penny.

Format:Hardcover
My 7 year old son absolutely loves this book and shows it to anyone who comes in the house. The experiments are easy to follow and mostly involve items from around the house. I give it the thumbs up, a fantastic idea to keep children busy on those rainy days!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book full of ideas 24 Sep 2010
Format:Paperback
I bought this book for my inquisitive 6 year old daughter who likes to 'do science'. I was really impressed by the number of activities that we could get straight on and try as lots of resources were easy, house-hold items we already had. I would've liked a list of needed materials for each experiment as it can be annoying to get halfway through and find you'd not noticed you needed something, but that's a small gripe.
The science itself is fine, but for me, this is just a nice book which helped me find things to do with ny daughter - great stuff!

Lots of experiements, some good explanations for why things happen in the way that they do. The experiments don't need expensive or unusual equipment. Good starter book.
