This in an overwhelming 5 CD release with 100 of the best songs recordings done by the Everly Brothers during the late 1950's throughout the 1960's. Incredible that you can get so much good music at such a low price.
Obviously it is a very stripped-down release with no booklet and no information about the songs and their origin. If you're interested in finding out the songs, you'll need to do some research yourself. What you have here is simple the music, which really sounds great. I have compared some of the songs with the same from couple of "Collector's Choice" albums that I have. My conclusion is that I'm not able top tell any difference. They sound like the exact same masterings.
There is no strict chronological order, but the oldest tracks ( Cadence ) are found on CD1 while the most recent tracks are on CD5.
Most of their albums are represented with 3-6 tracks, and the selections are really well chosen. The large majority of their most important releases from the period are included here. Quite a few rarities have also found their way to the collection; I do believem though, that they all have been previously released.
The music documents nicely that the brothers were among the most influential acts of the late 1950's and that they thoughout the 1960 came up with great music that matched bands like the Monkees, the Hollies or the Searchers.
