Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

On their second album, Huey, Fast and Steve--the fun loving power trio from New York--return with all the charm and good humour of a smooth talking rattlesnake. Seductively sensual tunes and a slow hip-hop groove melt under Huey's whispering voice on tracks like "Love Unlimited", which pays homage to the love machine that is Barry White. Still not taking themselves too seriously, the album is full of wry observation and good-natured humour. On the lively "Big Night Out"-- Queen's epic "Bohemian Rhapsody" updated for the 90's--a latin jazz rhythm melds with gospel accompaniment before breaking into hip-hop merriment as the infamously cheeky chorus mocks their supermodel conquests. There is still room for the hard rocking, hard living tales of the street and "Southside", with it's dark metal riffing, reminds us once again exactly what it means to be a Fun Lovin' Criminal. --David Trueman

Great follow up. 29 July 2001

This was the first FLC album I bought and it won't be the last. I got it a while ago after seeing a live set of theirs and hearing songs like scooby snacks and love unlimited. I bought this expecting a full on rock album because that's basically what they did live on mtv. They played King Of New York and Southside, enough said. I was completely suprised by how laid back this album was. They sound like a lounge band. They are utterly brilliant. I prefer this to the slightly heavier first album. My favourite tracks on this are We Are All Very Worried About You and Love Unlimited. Every track is a classic.

A good CD. Smooth grooves, funny words, all in a style of hip hop that sounds more original than most of the rubbish hip hop on the TV music channels. There are a couple of tracks which although not weak they do not seem to follow the flow of the music, bit too heavy, but all in all a great summer CD. Everytime I hear the guitar on 'all for self' it sends shivers up my spine.

this is one of my favourite albums. The criminals paint a very vivid picture filled with stories of crime and exitement but also of fun and livin' the good life. It varies from the laid back, jazzy nature of tracks like love unlimited and sugar to the blues rock of Up On The Hill and the all out rocxk of Korean Bodega. It certainly lives up2 the legacy of the amazing first album. Classic.

A personal favourite

Having heard the singles from the first album (scooby snacks etc.) I wasn't a huge fan of FLC. So when a friend insisted on playing their second album I wasn't impressed; but I... Read more

Disappointing follow-up
Following the huge success of Come Find Yourself I was appalled to find how badly the FLC dropped. Moody, slow and dull ballads seem to be stifiling the band's true potential. Read more

Smooth, mellow, melt in the mouth music
I'm glad we don't have to share these guys with America, cause to mainstream them would be to ruin them. If this album had a flavour, it would be cream. Read more

Shhmooth!
Maybe not as diverse as their debut but it is certainly a lot mature. There is much thought and time in each of the new songs with a classy horn section to suit their tailored... Read more
