Because it's Lost....one of the top US tv shows of the last 10 years. When the 24 complete box set is eventually released on blu-ray (when oh when) that will also cost a fortune too because there is one of the other top US tv shows of the last 10 years. Plus the 24 complete box set on bog standard dvd costs as much as the Lost set on blu ray!
£100 for 6 bluray seasons would usually be pretty good value. But as this is LOST this is a BARGAIN!!! 6 @ £16each. I payed well over this for all the DVDs in the past and now I'm gonna get it on bluray as Im sure I'll be watching it years to come.
Just purchased this today, tbh when it's costing 100 or anywhere near it I think an extra 20 quid here or there is really splitting hairs at that point to be fair....plus seasons on blu ray cost more than movies do and this box set considering you're getting all 6 seasons still only works out @ 20 quid a season which isn't bad at all for blu ray. In fact you save money buying the box set rather than the 6 individual seasons as strange as it sounds.
Completed Lost collection, completed Terminator SCC collection, completed Heroes collection all on blu - Just waiting for 24 complete box set to be announced on blu now - me and millions of others lol.
Seems a few too many people were either not around when we bought TV series for £12 to £20 a pop per VHS tape, that came with just two 40 minute episodes per tape. I bought several TV series this way that cost up to £800 each to own the entire series... on low resolution VHS tapes. DVD never got too much better... the first Star Trek full season sets cost £85 per season in the UK. So then, cut to Blu-ray... £100 (less now) for the ENTIRE six seasons of a series like Lost on High Definition Blu-ray... "expensive"? Simon, go and wash your mouth out with soap! You've never had it so good. And before you come back with "But.... but... rip-off Britain!"... notice how many Europeans are importing the set from here, and go and take a look at the Euro price.
If I'd paid £200, I'd have been running away thinking I'd just robbed someone.
