A battle of wills that’s about to get…heated!

Sabrina knows her role as Maid of Honour for her bff’s wedding - to-do lists, spreadsheets… she’s totally in control. The best man is a whole different matter! They met once years ago but now Connor McCoy’s become the super-sexy, squillionaire type. And now she’s heard some intriguing rumours about what he likes in the bedroom…and it’s making her just a teeny bit nervous!

Being involved in any kind of wedding is so not Connor’s style. Sabrina is so uptight and control freaky – loosening her up could be the only fun thing about this wedding. He’ll use all the tools at his disposal to show her exactly who’s in charge…and who said anything about needing the bedroom..

More About the Author

Heidi's first brilliant career plan was to marry Paul Newman. She was 12, Paul was pushing 50 and there was also the small matter of Joanne Woodward, so it never really panned out. In her teens she had a brief stint of wanting to be an actress, but unfortunately she was crap at that too. Her next great idea was to be a film director, but she settled instead for being a film reviewer for ten years, thinking that if she couldn't make films at least she could get paid to watch them. One wonderful husband, two sons and a lot of really bad B-movies later and she was ready for another brilliant career plan...

Ever since Paul failed to propose, she'd been devouring romance novels - and Harlequin books in particular - Linda Howard, Nora Roberts and Susan Elizabeth Phillips were just a few of her heroines. So she branched out into the wonderful world of romance writing and she hasn't looked back since. Her first novel was published in 2007, her second was nominated for a RITA award in 2008 and she topped the Waldenbooks Series Romance Bestseller list with her fourth in 2009. And she's having so much fun, she's almost not sorry that first brilliant career plan didn't work out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this red hot read. Connor is at first obnoxious and not very likeable, but he certainly grows on you! Sabrina is a cool heroine who doesn't mince her words. The chemistry between them is off the hook. I loved the writing style and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book.

I love sexy romantic fiction and well written erotica. Heidi Rice has a great track record in the former. She is always readable and in my view one of the real quality writers in her field. I always fancy her leading men something rotten!

This book is something of a departure for her as I would say it has moved squarely into the territory of erotica. Interestingly, I didn't much like Connor at first, far too pleased with himself. Sabrina was engaging though and I like the way Heidi's heroines are not wilting wimps. Connor grew on me, however, and there is no doubt the chemistry between them was electric. This is a very sexy book although well written and a very satisfying read (pun intended).

A well deserved five stars. Give us more Heidi!

*I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

Sabrina Millard is a perfectionist and a control freak. That’s why the role of maid of honor suits her so well. She’s the perfect person to insure her best friend’s wedding goes exactly as planned. Her only problem is the groom’s best man, Connor McCoy, who seems determined to make her life difficult and refuses to dance the second dance with her, as is expected of them. As if all the stress that comes with being the maid of honor weren’t enough, having to deal with sexy Connor, who pushes all the right buttons, is something Sabrina could definitely dispense…

Connor is not exactly a believer in matrimony, nor in relationships for that matter, but he just couldn’t refuse when his brother asked him to be his best man. Of course maybe he would have been able to, had he know it would have meant dealing with Sabrina. Cause nothing would give him more pleasure than to make her lose control…

And then there is the rehearsal dinner where they are seated next to each other and Connor decides to put Sabrina’s self-control to a test. And that’s when things started getting a little too kinky for my taste. I don’t want to give too much away, but the thing he asks her to wear at the wedding… No, just no. Not on that day and on those circumstances, especially considering it was all new to her. It just didn’t seem believable to me.

I did like the fact that it wasn’t only Sabrina who lost her control because of Connor, but that he also broke his own rules because of her. And I liked the ending, the revelations and Sabrina’s attitude. Considering it’s a novella, there is never much room for character development, so I thought the author did a good job considering the reduced number of pages.

Pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this. I'm not usually one for short stories or novella's but I was intrigued by this ones premise. I do wish it was longer but that is only because I would love to see the author explore the relationship between the characters. I loved the chemistry between Sabrina and Connor. They have sparks and are definitely hot together.

If the other Cosmo Red Hot Reads are as good as this one, I'm definitely going to have to check them out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Read, but feels like it's missing something 8 July 2014

If you’re looking for a short, hot read where there’s a ton of sexual tension between the two main characters, then this is definitely a good book to pick up. Sabrina and Connor definitely heat up the page, but there isn’t really a whole lot of substance to either of them. We learn more about Connor’s background than Sabrina’s, but I didn’t really feel like what we learned explained who he was or why. And Sabrina, at times, hints about her family, but that’s it. We don’t really know much about either of them and it makes it hard to care about what happens to either of them after the fact.

Sometimes when reading these short, hot reads, I feel like I should just go into it expecting sex and sexual tension and nothing else, then when the plot and characters are underdeveloped I won’t be surprised or let down. Overall the book is enjoyable and I would not be opposed to reading more by Heidi Rice in the future. I just would have preferred to either fully delve into the characters and their pasts or not really mention anything at all.

4.0 out of 5 stars BWB Press Reviews 21 April 2014

The benefits of reading 10 Ways to Handle the Best Man:

This book presents a benefit to the romance readers who enjoy a story set in a foreign country. Connor McCoy travels from New York to England to attend his half-brother’s wedding and encounters the maid-of-honor and wedding planner, Sabrina Millard. Her take charge attitude rubs him the wrong way and they clash from the start. The fact that they are attracted to each other just adds to the conflict and sexual tension.

The author came up with a clever way to start each section of the book with a “way to handle” the main male character. And Connor certainly needs a strong woman to handle him. This is a short afternoon read for the busy romance reader. I love to read sex scenes when the man knows his way around the woman’s body and Connor sure is talented in that regard!

The only criticism I might have is that the characters are not very well developed. For instance, the author skims over Connor’s past, but doesn’t really explain his callousness toward women. He is a sex only and no relationship kind-of-guy. It appears that Sabrina may be able to change him but, again, the author gives us no hints as to their future after he asks her to spend a week in New York with him.

Could there be a sequel in the works? It would certainly benefit those of us who are skeptical about their future. If not, at least we can appreciate the two weeks of fabulous sex that they share. Imagination running wild here! 4 stars
