PLEASE NOTE: I give this product a rating of ZERO stars, however Amazon inexplicably will not allow this.

Are you looking at this DVD because you want a kettlebell workout? If you are, DO NOT BUY IT. The title of the DVD and the cover picture are 100% misleading. As a previous reviewer (whose review I wish I had seen) says, this is NOT at all a kettlebell exercise routine.

Okay, yes, the instructor dictates how to hold your kettlebell for each exercise ("by the base") - however, this is impractical even for the recommended women's beginning weight of 8kg. Kettlebells are too big to hold by the base, making exercises like "the halo" where you circle it around your head completely dangerous.

If you're looking for a dumbbell exercise with an instructor who occasionally says the word "kettlebell" then this is for you. If you are looking for a kettlebell DVD with actual instruction on how to hold and utilise a kettlebell from an instructor actually using a kettlebell you definitely need to look elsewhere.

Sorry but this is not a kettlebell workout, this is one woman swinging a dumbell around, doing some exercises that can't even be done with a kettlebell. Seriously misleading showing a kettlebell on the front of the DVD, maybe they borrowed it and had to give it back? I'd give this one a miss if you're looking for a proper workout. May I suggest Sarah Luries 'Kettlebells, The Iron Core Way' series (currently 3 different DVDs available) if you want proper kettlebell exercises and techniques.

If I could give this minus stars then I would, save your money guys.

My kettlebell has been lying about for months and finally I had the opportunity to put it to good use; hence my purchase of the 10 Minute Solutuion Kettlebell workout. I wasn't sure what to expect since I don't work out with Kettlebells but rather with dumb bells. If you take the time to watch the introduction the instructor does specify that she demonstrates the routine with the aid of a dumb bell for those who do not own a kettlebell. I consider this to be an advantage in two ways. Firstly, if you don't own a kettlebell then you can just as easily reap the rewards from using dumb bells and consequently if you do own a kettlebell then you are at an advantage; however the kettlebell does take some getting used to. All in all, it's a great starting point. The instructor guides you through each movement and does specify where to hold your kettlebell if you are using one. That being said, you get the best of both worlds either way; if you are a beginner and have never used kettlebells before then it may be worth starting off with the dumb bell until you feel more confident and then progress to the kettlebell. As I said before I work out predominantly with dumb bells, however the kettlebell has added a completely new dimension to my workouts. It really works your entire body and you will feel the effects after one workout. One doesn't consider 10 minutes as being a substantial amount of time but believe you me at the end of each routine your heart is pumping as every part of your body is working hard as you are using multi-rotational movements as opposed to single joint movements! As this is my first kettlebell workout DVD I am happy to carry on with it as I consider it to be quite a challenge.Read more ›

I only wish I had read the reviews for this DVD. You see the kettle bell in her hand about once and that is her showing you what one is! It should be called The Ultimate Dumb Bell workout.

This DVD is fine if you want to work with a dumbell. However, being that I purchased A KETTLEBELL and wanted to work with it, as the DVD title suggests thought this would be a suibtable DVD. WRONG WRONG WRONG ! Waste of time and money!

I was VERY DISAPPOINTED - throughout all the exercises she does NOT use a kettlebell, but something that resembles a dumbell!!! Ridiculous - in a exercise dvd for kettlebells, NO kettlebells are used!!! I am not returning it because I will have to pay for the postage - and I think that I have already spent enough on this ludicrous dvd.

This is marketed as a kettlebell fat burning workout. Im sorry but it doesnt utilise the kettlebell to its full potential. Firstly the women in the DVD uses a dumbell throughout the workout, hello why not call it a dumbell workout durr!!!! At pertinant points she mentions you can use your kettle bell instead but the kettlebell has so many more ues than a dumbell. I bought this DVD for my wife whilst buying myself a dedicated kettlebell DVD, my wife now uses my dvd which clearly utilises the kettlebell correctly, five mintues with a kettlebell swinging and you know you are working out. The 10 minute workout does not utilise any of the swings which the kettlebell is famous for and thus does not benefit from the total body workout which melt fat. My advise buy a kettlebell but even if your a female looking for a good workout avoid this DVD and purchase a specialist kettlebell book or DVD.

Why not just call it a dumbbell workout? Or actually pick up a kettlebell and do what you say on the tin - provide a KETTLEBELL workout? It's just laziness. They've obviously worked out that kettlebells are the latest 'cool' thing and jumped on the bandwagon without actually going to the trouble of ever picking up a kettlebell, o sorry, apart from when they took the photo for the cover.

Sometimes she's telling me to do moves which require you to hold the base and swing your arms up or down quickly. With a dumbbell that's all good and well. But I'm holding the base of my kettlebell, as instructed, and as I swing it, the heavy handle swings down and hits me in the wrist, making a hollow metal-on-bone sound, which I'm sure is not good. The bruise on my wrist agrees with me. It's ridiculous. She's ridiculous.

A minor point on the aesthetics too, she's quite stocky and to be honest, if she's what I'm aiming for, I think I'm going to step away from my kettlebell. It also looks a little bit 'hired-out-a-room-in-a-gym-for-an-hour-to-film-this.' I spend more time being distracted by how annoyed I am than actually following or doing the exercises. Which defeats the purpose.

If you have a dumbbell, get it. If you are looking for ANYTHING apart from a dumbbell workout, it's not a good purchase.

PS, I hope the people who made this DVD are reading this because, like others here, I feel their laziness in using a dumbbell to instruct a kettlebell workout could cause injuries.
