I have only just got this dvd today and got started with it straight away. I have quite a few of the 10 minute solution dvds and so far I think this one has to be my favourite now. Having attempted the belly, butt and thigh blaster dvd also presented by Jessica Smith I was a bit nervous that this too might be a bit advanced for me but having seen video clips I thought this one looked fun and I do enjoy a challenge.
I would say this dvd is fine for all fitness levels. I am not super fit but I like to exercise most days. I managed to do the whole dvd in one go and I thought it was absolutely spot on. I am not normally a fan of dvds with these combat type manoeuvres as I don't have great co-ordination and tend to get lost/confused once they up the tempo. However, this was great, as it kept the moves nice and simple, was very easy to pick up and it gets your heart rate up. I wasn't huffing and puffing for the most part but there were one or two little bits that do get you like that (especially in Fat Attack & Knockout Body Blast). Even when I wasn't huffing and puffing much I could still tell I was definitely working out and worked up a little sweat too. The dvd has moves that target the whole body so you get a good all round workout.
The instructor is very encouraging and motivates you throughout and also gives you pointers about which part(s) of your body you should focus on and the way you should move them in order to get the most out of the exercise which I thought was great. It sounds cliche but honestly, with this dvd the time absolutely flies by and I couldn't believe it when the 50 mins were up. You don't need anything except for a mat for part of the last section.
There are 5 sections including:
Knockout Body Blast - lots of weaving, punching, kicking and simple fun moves to get your heart rate up.
Fat Attack - things like skipping, bouncing/jumping, jacks, kicks, punches, scissors and some more aerobic type moves
Ultimate Upper Body - lots and lots of punches, and a few press-ups, squats with flyes etc. Very enjoyable
Kickbox Cross Train - a fair bit of balancing work to activate abs and glutes and lots of kicking and punching.
Fierce & Fabulous Abs - lots of standing ab exercises from simple ones to more advanced ones but not so advanced you can't have a good stab at the whole section. Some balance work involved with the standing exercises but there are also some floor exercises for back and abs which you need a mat for.
It is hard to pick a favourite section as they are all equally as good. Personally I found the Fierce & Fabulous Abs and Kickbox Crosstrain sections the hardest (in that order) and a bit more of a challenge as they seemed to cover absolutely everything and the abs/mat work seemed more advanced.
Cannot recommend this DVD highly enough. Is it fantastic and definitely one to buy!!
