Product Description

GreenPan is a range of beautifully designed, technologically advanced cookware pieces with a unique environmental message.
No PFOA is used in the manufacture of GreenPan. The ceramic non stick coating contains no PTFE. Less energy used in the manufacturing process and Environmentally friendly materials used as much as possible.

The ceramic coating is heat resistant to 450°C / 850°F - If you accidentally overheat your pan, no toxic fumes will be released and the coating itself will not be destroyed. It is hard wearing and has excellent food release properties. No more rubbing and scrubbing, clean-up has become a breeze!

Thanks to the unique properties of the ceramic non stick coating, GreenPan cookware makes it possible to prepare meals with less oil. To clean your GreenPan cookware, simply wash in warm soapy water with a soft cloth, rinse and dry with a towel. You can use metal utensils such as spoons and whisks. The use of forks and knives is not recommended, as you can damage the surface of your pan when cutting the food

GreenPan is a Belgian Cookware manufacturer which is the first to launch PTFE free non stick cookware. Our products have truly revolutionalised the cookware market. Each of our products makes a serious commitment to your Health, your Convenience and the Environment. High-End materials and the latest state-of-the-art technology make it possible to create unique pieces.

Enjoy the new dimension and expand your cooking skills with GreenPan.

GreenPan Care and Use Instructions

1) Important Safeguards

Read all safety information carefully and thoroughly before using this product!

•    Do not allow children near the stove while you cook.
•    To avoid injury always use caution when handling hot pots.

•    For safety reasons never leave cookware unattended while in use and make sure the handles do not extend over the edge of the stove.
•    Do not allow handles to extend over a hot burner, because the handles could get hot.

•    The handles of your cookware are constructed to minimize heat transfer.  Nevertheless, lids and handles may become hot during prolonged cooking.  Use caution when removing lids    or lifting with the handles.  Touch lightly to be sure the handles have not become hot.  Use oven mitts or potholders if necessary.

•    Always use oven gloves when removing pans from a hot oven.
•    Where Bakelite handles or stainless steel handles with silicone are fitted or glass lids are used always check their temperature resistance before using in an oven.

2) Usage Guide

Before First Use:

•    Remove all packaging materials and labels (please recycle rubbish properly)
•    Wash in warm soapy water; rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

Cooking:

Recommendations in order not to warp your GreenPan product:
•    Do not preheat on a high setting.
•    When preheating a pan, never leave it un-attended.

•    Do not allow the pan to boil dry.
•    Do not put hot pans under cold water immediately.

Recommendations for energy-saving and best cooking and frying results:
•    Cook on a burner that is approximately similar in base diameter to that of the pan you have selected.
•    When cooking on gas, adjust the flame so it does not flare up the sides of the pan.
•    Use low heat to warm foods, simmer or prepare delicate sauces.

•    Heat settings are very important.  Lower heat settings are not only good for energy-saving but also avoids the pan becoming too hot. The nature of ceramics is to hold and distribute the heat more effectively, helping some protein-rich foods cook more quickly.

•    For energy-saving, do not use your dishwasher to clean your cookware.

Recommendations for best food release:
•    Always start with a clean pan.  Wash carefully with a soft cloth or sponge and be sure that you have removed all traces of cooking oil and food before you store your pan.
•    Remove food from the refrigerator 10 minutes before you intend to cook or fry.

•    Do not drop the pan on the floor, and take care not to wrap or bend the pan as this may deform the ceramic non-stick coating, resulting in loss of non-stick properties.
•    Remember to pre-heat your pan and allow the oil to heat for a minute before you add food to the pan.

•    If food sticks to the pan during cooking, add a small amount of water to the part of the pan that the food is stuck to.  Adding moisture will create a burst of steam that should lift any food stuck to the pan.

•    Note: After a while it is normal that non-stick properties will reduce.  This process can be accelerated by prolonged exposure of the non-stick surface to high heat during cooking owing to carbonisation of food and oil. The patented Thermolon non-stick technology can withstand accidental over-heating up to 450°C/850°F for short periods, which is a safety feature.  This means that if you do accidentally overheat your pan, no toxic fumes will be released. Moreover, the coating itself will not blister or peel.
When the non-stick starts to fade, the thick high density ceramic undercoat allows the pan to be used just like cast iron enamelled pans.

Cooking oils and fats:
•    We recommend using oil or butter. Remember, some oils and fats burn at lower temperatures.  Fats and oils work in various temperature ranges.  We recommend extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil; they are healthier and have a relatively high burn point.
•    Because of the excellent heat conductivity of your pan and the Thermolon layer, food and oil carbonize very rapidly.  So always cook on low to medium heat and only use high heat for searing or browning.

•    Do not use oil sprays.  These sprays cause residue build-up that is difficult to remove from all types of cookware.
•    When applying oil, always give the oil a nice even rub onto the surface of the pan.

Utensils:
•    Never use metal utensils on any non-stick surface.  Bamboo, plastic, rubber or other wooden utensils are recommended to prolong the life of the pan.
•    Do not cut food whilst it is in the pan.

3) Care and Cleaning:

•    Allow the pan to cool and then clean it thoroughly after each use.
•    Plunging a hot pan into water can cause irreparable warping.

•    Your GreenPan product is very easy and convenient to clean.  In the case of dishwasher use, the non-stick properties of ceramic non-stick coatings can be broken down by the         hardness of the water and aggressive alkaline detergents that are commonly used in a dishwasher. To preserve your pan we recommend that you simply wash it in warm, soapy water.  Rinse and dry with a soft towel or kitchen paper.

•    Do NOT use steel wool or nylon scrubbing pads.  For best results, clean with a soft cloth or sponge.
•    Do NOT use oven cleaner or any cleaner that is abrasive or which contains chlorine bleach.  Do not gouge the non-stick-coating.

•    If black deposits form on your non-stick coating this is likely to have resulted from prolonged exposure of the non-stick surface to high heat during cooking with fats and oils which can break down. This can create carbonized oil and fat films.  These factors will accelerate the loss of non-stick performance. If this happens then empty any loose food, partly fill the pan with warm water and let it come to a quick boil. Then turn off the stove and leave it to cool.  After cooling the burnt food should be easily wiped away.
For tougher burns, soak the pan in soapy water for a few hours followed by patient rubbing with a soft cloth.  Do not use any abrasive cleaners, harsh scouring pads or steel wool as this will damage the non-stick.

•    Always ensure the pan is clean before you store it.
•    Slight surface marks and discolorations are normal. The only difference with black-coloured coatings and Thermolon™ is that stains and other marks can show up more visibly on the light grey Thermolon surface.
•    Halogen and ceramic stovetops – Take care to ensure that your stovetop and your GreenPan product is kept free from debris so as not to scratch the ceramic stovetop’s surface.

Who would write about pan covers, right? That's until your flies off a drying rack, good two metres down, bounces of tiled floors and waits patiently for you to pick it up. The only problem was a slight dent on the edge easily fixed with a gentle twist or pliers. Looks like new and well into 6th months of constant use shows no signs of wear.

    Really, really durable product.

This lid has been a great boon in covering my frying pan, (I used to use a pyrex plate). The handle has never been too hot to hold despite being metal and one can view the contents of the pan at all times. I was so pleased with this product that I bought one for my other sized frying pan too.

This pan lid fits my pan very well. I like the transparent and heat resistant glass over. However the handle is too thin and sometimes can be very hot.

This looks like a very nice lid but unfortunately it does not fit the Tefal Intensium 32 cm Frypan (the pan is slightly bigger than the lid) I intended to use it with so I will have to return it.

Seems I can only leave feedback on the lid! I bought the frying pan as well. I could tell as soon as I handled it that it is good quality and used it for the first time on Saturday. I was looking for a non-toxic product as I am recently becoming aware of how dangerous standard cookware is. Most non-toxic quality cookware is way out of my price range, so I was delighted to have bought a product of quality at a more affordable price. I would recommend this to anyone seeking healthier cooking options.

The lid is very sturdy and looks to be well made, however as above, it doesn't fit the Tefal 28cm stir fry pan.

Also, note the lid does not have a steam hole.

I bought this to cover the 24cm green pan frying pan. The frying pan is quite shallow but on a low to moderate heat cooks very evenly so is ideal for slow cooking as well as a quick fry. The lid greatly reduces food spitting out of the pan. Being transparent is also great for cooking food such as risotto where you want the rice to absorb the moisture but don't want to remove the lid a let out steam.

Fits my sainsbury's 28 cm frying pan perfectly. A great solution to retro fitting a lid. Looks good and seems of good quality.
