Format:DVD
Although this comic story of a wife's suspicions about her husband's fidelity is probably the weakest of the three, the idea behind Trilogy - three overlapping stories occurring simultaneously involving the same characters - makes the whole a unique and brilliant experiment that is much much greater than the sum of its parts.
In each film scenes are revisited but seen from another point of view. So what seems comic in this second film of the trilogy - a surprise birthday party for the husband, is the social background scene of a thriller in the first, and a psychological minefield for a detective and his wife in the third. The point being made throughout is that we never really know what is going on in other peoples lives and minds even if we have been friends or have been married to them for over 20 years.

clever and completely engaging. the music for the first film is in a class with The Third Man. Not like it but so evocative and exactly what film music should do.
The 2nd film was comic relief -- not as good as other two, but still very tightly made and 1st class acting and directing -- then the 3rd film brought all three stories together. Fantastic. I'm buying this because I want to be able to view it again from start to finish with friends.

Format:DVD
I went to see these films in the cinema and they were amazing. Each film follows one set of people and explains their troubles in detail. All 3 films are very closely tied and you see several scenes from different perspectives. I will buy this simply for the reason that the DVD contains these scence put back into the correct sequence, a composite from the 3 movies. If you liked three colours then you will like this. In fact if you enjoy a good story then you will love this. It has comedy, romance, violence and much more. A set of films not to be missed.

Good gimmick, but under-used
It's a good idea to have the one section of life play out three times with different contexts but I didn't think they did anything much with it. Read more
