As a teacher who uses 123 Magic in the classroom, I bought this book to see if it was something I could use in the classroom. However, although I did find it worth reading, it is very American in style and may not engage British children. Nevertheless, it is something that could maybe be shared with parents as a simplified overview of some of the benefits of using the 123 Magic programme, and hopefully motivate them to take the time to read the main book.

This goes well with the book for adults
This is a great success in the US though people may be a little ary of it here
However it seems to work very well and as long as parents stick to the rules and get others such as grand-parents etc involved it seems to work.
This book aims at getting the kids on board to, with explanations and things to do - and should be an nice adjunct to the adult book. I think though that it will take an adult to work through it with them.

I bought this as I have discipline issues (to put it politely) with one of my toddlers. What I thought I was buying was a book written for adults to help us teach our children to understand about discipline and that there was this great new way called "1-2-3 Magic". Nope. This is written for kids in kids language with illustrations for children and using a method I was brought up on in the 1970s. Parent says s/he's going to count to 3 and whatever the child needs to do has to be done by then (or else...). Totally and utterly unoriginal. And you don't need to have a degree in child psychology to write this book. I cannot recommended this as a book for parents.
