This is a really fun piece of kitchen equipment. Good sturdy build and does everything it says on the box.

However, with hindsight, I wish I had bought the vertical Lurch Spiralo - but only because my kitchen is quite small and the horizontal Spirali takes up more worktop space than I expected. Also, it seems that the Spiralo spiralizes the whole width of the vegetable and doesn't waste the centre the way this model does.

So I will still give it 5 stars for performance and build, but personally, I think the Spiralo is probably a better (and later?) design.

I wanted a machine that made veg spagetti and this is suberb. Ive mainly used corgettes, carrots and beetroot. It does that job brilliantly. Really easy to use and clean, but the blades are incredibly sharp so be warned. Although it takes a bit of space in the cupboard. The attachment and blades are within the unit, so quite compact. It is very solid and think it will last years of service. Highly recommended.

I bought this after going on a Raw Food course. I think it's better made than the one they had at the cookery school and it does exactly the same job: long spaghetti-like threads of different thicknesses and curly spirals. You do lose the centre of the vegetable you are cutting - you are left with a perfect little stick - but you can slice these thinly or use them for dips or (as I do) eat while you cook! For this reason, large veg work better (there has to be enough of the vegetable to remove a 8mm core and still have something left to grate) so no good for those little finger carrots. The blades are easy to change and when not in use store in a convenient compartment beneath the unit. It does not stain, even with raw beetroot, and is easy to clean especially if you rinse it straight after use, before the food fibres have time to go sticky and get clogged in the blades. Lots of fun to use... I just couldn't stop turning things! I ummed and aaaed a lot before choosing this model over their vertical one but I think it's the right choice for me as I like that the food comes out at one side, not underneath, although the vertical one may be better for anyone short on storage space. I also bought the matching Lurch mandoline/slicer and am very pleased with it. Both good value products.

You'll love this item! Good quality, Does the job with very little wastage. Makes a little go a long way! Stable on the worktop due to great suction pads. Easy to clean and maintain. No too big to store. Perfect for those who entertain, make lots of salads, vegans and vegetarians for whom presentation is important. Blades store underneath the item which means they don't get lost in kitchen drawers. Spiralled a courgette in seconds and even a hard beet root with ease. I'm very impressed and can't recommend highly enough.

I am glad I purchased this item. I never thought that I could eat raw sweet potato, but I did with the spirali and it tasted good. The product is sturdy, although it doesn't seem to stick to the surface very well. It is easy to assemble and easy to use and easy to clean. It is a great product and fun to use!

As kitchen gadgets go this is really good clean fun. It works best on carrots or daikon radish it looks like you've murdered someone if you try beetroot!) Long curly veg can be cooked or left raw,
adds visual appeal (good for kids who won't eat veg) and makes fake pasta out of courgettes! Quite well designed, not too much of a bother to wash or put away. Better than its sister Spiralo, but takes up more space.

I don't usually write reviews but just had to say that this is a fantastic product! I've used it on courgettes, cucumbers, onions, potatoes, carrots, peppers and cheese. Haven't tried butternut squash but that will be next! Makes a gorgeous spiral Greek salad. I really like being able to use veg as "pasta" as I am on a low carb diet. Really fun product!

I saw this product on BBC Saturday Kitchen programme and thought it would be novel and useful for salad making.
Then I Googled spirali recipes, and once I had filtered out the recipes using the pasta shapes called spirali, I found a lot of "raw food" recipes that used this product.
In a weird 'chain-reaction', having discovered how raw vegetarian food is so much better for us than cooking all the nutrients out of our food, this has lead me onto a whole new way of making and eating food. As a result I have now bought a juice extractor which I use every other day (veg and fruits) grow and juice wheat grass, have bought and started using a dehydrator and about 50% of our food so far is 'raw food'.
Or, you could just use it to make salads :) Using it to make courgette noodles to eat with a pasta sauce or to deep fry is terrific. Highly recommend it!
