Book Description

The sixth anarchic story featuring the irrepressible Daisy as a spy

Product Description

Daisy is back and this time she's not just Daisy, she's 006 and a Bit, spy extraordinaire. With her black felt-tip moustache, dark glasses, secret spy gadgets and special spy code, she's poised and ready for action. There's just one problem, nobody can understand a word she's saying! Mrs Pike the neighbour, Tiptoes the cat and even Gabby, Daisy's best friend, are all baffled by her spy language.

Poor 006 and a Bit is about to abandon her mission when a mysterious stranger with a blue moustache and purple beard deep pokes his head around the door . . .

Wow! What a find! I've come across Daisy books before but to me this one stands out from the rest: having had a library copy, I'm here ordering our own and can't even wait for the paperback to come out. Daisy dresses up as a spy (by drawing on a black moustache and putting on dark glasses) and accessorizes with key spy equipment like invisible ink/perfume from her mum's bedroom and the baddie-blasting hairdrier. This is highly amusing to the adult reader because it is so true to life and my children (6, 4 and 2) think its funny too. We also like Daisy's special spy language: `the ostrich lands on the red moon tonight' type. This code is hard for mere mortals to understand and Daisy becomes disheartened. Fortunately another spy (in disguise but the clues point to Daisy's mum) arrives with a coded message for a fun finale. It's a refreshing change to see a picture book featuring a feisty girl playing a tomboy game and my children are loving being secret agents. Fantastic for both boys and girls.

Oh what a lovely book, gives all grannies a chance to overact in reading this to the littlies and with the added fun of the disguise at the back of dark glasses, moustache etc.

Lovely, lovely books, which I enjoy reading almost as much as my granddaughter enjoys hearing them, even though she does tell me not to use so many silly voices!!!! Moi??

This book has gone down a storm with both my 6 year old daughter and her (soon to be) 3 year old brother. My son picked another Daisy book from the library, solely from the cover. This created great anticipation for bedtime. A good one to read them toghether.
